Abstract: This study, conducted at Dologon National High School in Maramag, Bukidnon, Philippines, explores the appreciation and challenges associated with action research among three secondary teachers. The participants, selected based on their completion of full-blown action research during the 2022-2023 academic year, provide valuable insights into the practical aspects of conducting research in an educational setting. The study delves into the unique profiles of each participant, considering factors such as age, gender, teaching experience, academic background, and research history. Notably, the participants showcase diversity in their backgrounds, enhancing the depth of understanding regarding the appreciation and challenges of action research in this specific context. Through a qualitative exploration, the research uncovers the transformative impact of action research on personal and professional growth while highlighting time management, family impact, and technical research difficulties as significant challenges. The findings contribute to a nuanced understanding of the dynamics of action research within the secondary education landscape, emphasizing the need for tailored support and addressing multifaceted challenges faced by educators.
