Abstract: The article is devoted to the issues of teaching professional Russian language based on the text of the scientific parlance as a way of forming professional competencies of medical students. The experience of teaching Russian as the language of medicine on the basis of a scientific text is generalized, the formation of students' professional competencies on the basis of pre-text, test and post-text tasks are confirmed, which in turn assist the successful implementation of the competences and adaptation of medical students in the future field of activity.
