Abstract: This study investigates the attitudes of language students towards interpreting courses and interpreting technologies in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Employing an online questionnaire distributed to 72 third-year English language students at a School of Thai Nguyen University, the study examines students’ perceptions of interpreting as a career, their use of interpreting-support tools, and their expectations for interpreting studying and teaching in the digital age. The findings of the study reveal that most of the students recognize the growing importance of interpreting and support the integration of technological tools in interpreting training. However, they also express concern about challenges such as limited short-term memory, lack of vocabulary and difficulties in keeping up with fast-paced speech. The study highlights the importance of balancing between traditional interpreting competencies and digital literacy and recommends incorporating AI tools, increasing the number of practice sessions, and inviting professional interpreters to share their experiences. For future studies, researchers may involve larger and more diverse samples to further explore this topic.
