Abstract: Self-learning is one of the key factors that determine students' success in their academic journey. It not only helps students master knowledge but also cultivates important qualities such as independent thinking, time management, creativity in work, and has become an essential form of learning in the context of the ongoing digital transformation. This paper focuses on studying the current status of self-learning in basic science subjects among students at the Foreign Language Faculty, Thai Nguyen University. Based on the research findings, we propose several solutions to enhance students' self-learning abilities in basic science subjects, thereby promoting self-learning skills, creativity, and improving their final academic results.
