Abstract: It is true that studying far away from home helps students to learn how to live and work independently, have more relationships and have a chance for a high paying-jobs. This paper shows the difficulties of studying far from home and points out that it is not easy to live away from home. The researcher collected data from 30 English-majored freshmen who studied far away from home in Tay Do University through a questionnaire. The results showed that most freshmen struggled with finance, psychology, security and time management. At the end of the research, the researchers offered some solutions to help students deal with the problems that they have to face when studying away from home.
