| Abstract: |
This review paper focuses on blockchain-based secure data communication between autonomous vehicles in intelligent transportation systems. Autonomous vehicles rely heavily on real-time data exchange for safe and efficient operation, making security and privacy critical challenges. The paper reviews the role of blockchain technology in providing decentralized, transparent, and tamper-resistant communication among vehicles. It discusses Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication, security threats, consensus mechanisms, data privacy, and trust management techniques. The study also highlights the advantages of blockchain such as improved security, data integrity, reduced cyberattacks, and enhanced reliability in autonomous vehicle networks. Furthermore, the paper examines current challenges including scalability, latency, and energy consumption, along with future research directions for secure intelligent transportation systems |
