| Abstract: |
The financial industry has seen a dramatic increase in data generation due to the growing popularity of digital transactions and financial technology platforms. However, traditional methods of data management struggle with scalability, security and efficient handling of large datasets, often leading to performance issues and vulnerabilities. This work aims to secure the financial data in the cloud to avoid unauthorized access, data breaches and loss of sensitive information while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The proposed work begins with gathering of financial data from various sources. Data transformation is then applied to the collected data, including log transformation to handle skewed data and target encoding for categorical variables. The data is then encrypted using ChaCha20-Poly1305, ensuring confidentiality and integrity. Finally, the encrypted data is stored in cloud storage, offering scalability and easy access for authorized users, while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. The results demonstrate that ChaCha20-Poly1305 achieved the highest encryption strength at 90%, providing robust security with minimal processing time. This work enhances the security, efficiency and management of large financial datasets, ensuring secure data handling while maintaining high performance and scalability in cloud-based environments. |
