Abstract: Teachers in recent years work hard for their students and communities despite undertaking online and micro-businesses in addition to their challenging roles as educators. As teachers undertake these entrepreneurial ventures, they encounter various challenges, especially with time management and family obligations. Although business involvement has been a focus of previous research, the unique experiences of teachers undertaking online and micro-business are yet to be extensively researched. This research seeks to fill this void by exploring: (a) teachers' most important reasons for participating in online and micro-businesses; (b) the success they realize while juggling teaching and business; (c) the challenges they encounter while dealing with both roles; and (d) evidence-based suggestions for teachers who intend to venture into business. Carried out at Sagundanon Integrated School, Kitaotao Municipality, Philippines, the qualitative study used ten DepEd teachers purposively chosen who are now actively involved in online and micro-businesses. Their achievements are enhanced incomes on top of their salaries as teachers. They also struggle immensely, though, especially with disciplined time management between teaching duties and running a business. The research highlights the need for flexibility, a good support group, and funding strategies for educators venturing into online and micro-businesses. Suggestions are meant to enlighten and direct teachers who intend to venture into the business sector by encouraging business-savvy, time-efficient teachers who can strike a balance between teaching and business.
