| Abstract: |
The high activity in the FMA 712 area has various impacts, both ecological and economic. The condition of fish resources in FMA 712 is currently in poor condition. Fish catch is influenced by various factors, including the amount of fish stock and the level of fishing effort is applied. The level of fishing effort always changes depending on the number of results caught and will determine the level of fishing effort. Conditions of waters that have high diversity make Indonesian waters a potential area to continue utilized, by local and international fishermen. The purpose of this review is to determine the potential condition and performance of fish resources in FMA 712. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The data used included data on fisheries management area, capture fisheries production potential fish resources, total allowable catch (TAC), vessels, and fishing gear used in FMA 712. The result indicates fish resources in FMA 712, in general, have experienced optimal utilization and tend to be over-exploited. This condition must be a strategy in capture fisheries management by taking into account the sustainability of fish resources and determining management priorities for certain types of fish based on commodities, number of fishing vessels, and types of fishing gear. |
