Abstract: |
The study establishes strategies used to improve the usage of E-learning at Vocational Pedagogy (M VP) program, Kyambogo University (KyU). Thirty-Six (36) participants were purposively picked for the study from the M VP program. The study took the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach where qualitative methods used were work process analysis, future workshop and observation. The findings of the study revealed that much as the M VP program had fully-fledged computer laboratory continued to register low Kyambogo E-Learning Management (KELMS) use among M VP program community. It was concluded that laxity of M VP administration to follow-up KELMS usage, high level of negative attitude, coupled with a high level of digital illiteracy contributed to poor KELMS usage. It was therefore recommended, compulsory practical tasks are set for the system users, upload/download all class activities into or from the system, involve of KELMS administrator as KELMS usage trainer, provide new laptops to equip cohort Six M VP students, and lastly improve KELMS platform outlook by KELMS administrator for easy accessibility, flexibility, and scalability of the system. It was believed that once the above-mentioned recommendations were employed KELMS usage would improve significantly. |
