| Abstract: |
Mackerel tuna is a type of pelagic fish that is used as a target for catching by fishermen. The distribution of mackerel tuna is found in almost all Indonesian waters. The distribution of mackerel tuna is influenced by oceanographic conditions such as sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentration. These oceanographic conditions can provide information about fishing areas, especially mackerel tuna. The purpose of this study was to determine the fishing season for mackerel tuna. The method in this research is through literature study and analyzed descriptively. The catch of mackerel tuna occurred in the transitional season II (September - November), while the catch of mackerel tuna decreased in the west season (December - February). This happened because the weather in that season was in bad condition and high rainfall caused fishermen to be unable to carry out fishing activities optimally. |
