Abstract: In today’s globalized world, mastering English is crucial for academic and professional success, with universities requiring proficiency in tests like IELTS, TOEFL, and TOEIC. A significant challenge for many students is acquiring vocabulary, which is fundamental for effective communication in reading, speaking, writing, and listening. Vocabulary serves as the core component of language learning and is essential for fluency. Research shows that effective vocabulary learning strategies can greatly enhance language acquisition. While studies have explored vocabulary strategies in various contexts, there is a gap regarding advanced English students at Thai Nguyen University of Foreign Languages. This research aims to investigate the vocabulary learning strategies of advanced students from generations K43, K44, and K45 and assess the alignment between teachers' instructions and students' practices to improve educational quality at the university.
