| Abstract: |
CASA (Current Account Savings Account) ratio represents the proportion of demand deposits to total deposits. It is a crucial indicator in modern banking operations due to its low capital cost and its contribution to improving a bank's liquidity. Within the Vietnamese commercial banking system, CASA plays an essential role in optimizing funding costs and enhancing competitiveness. Currently, the CASA ratio remains low across many banks, with significant disparities among different banking groups. These differences mainly stem from varying levels of technological capabilities, service quality, and customer segments. Major challenges include the public's habit of using cash, intense competition from digital banks and fintech companies, and limitations in customer experience. By analyzing the current status of CASA growth among commercial banks in Vietnam, this article proposes several solutions to help improve the CASA ratio for Vietnamese commercial banks |
