Abstract: |
This qualitative phenomenological study explores the resilience of solo parent teachers as they navigate the dual demands of professional responsibilities and family roles. Conducted at Don Carlos Central Elementary School in the Philippines, the research involved seven purposively selected solo parent teachers who shared their lived experiences through in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that these educators face significant challenges, including time scarcity, emotional exhaustion, and financial pressures, which complicate their ability to balance work and home life effectively. Despite these obstacles, participants employ intentional prioritization, support-seeking behaviors, and self-care practices to sustain their resilience. The study highlights the critical role of social support networks, flexible institutional policies, and personal coping strategies in managing these dual roles. The results underscore the need for targeted interventions that address both practical and emotional needs to enhance the well-being and professional performance of solo parent teachers. |
