Abstract: This study examines the internship experiences of English majors in the Business English program at a public university in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Through a combination of survey data and interviews, the research identifies the types of internship positions held by students, including roles in financial institutions, content creation, human resources, translation, and administrative support. The findings reveal that students perceived numerous benefits from their internships, such as skill enhancement, professional exposure, networking opportunities, and practical knowledge application. However, they also faced significant challenges, including difficulties in securing internships, managing performance expectations, and navigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study highlights the importance of internships in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world application, while also emphasizing the need for universities to provide better support and guidance to students during their internship search and experiences. By addressing these challenges, educational institutions can enhance the overall effectiveness of internship programs, ultimately contributing to the professional development of students.
