Abstract
This study examines the relationship between the challenges and success factors in implementing the Gulayan sa Paaralan (GPP) program. The main aim is to find solutions for the difficulties encountered by school leaders to ensure the program's sustainability and positive impact. The GPP, initiated by the Department of Education in the Philippines, focuses on enhancing food security and nutrition for students through school-based vegetable gardening. The research uses surveys for quantitative data and focus group discussions for qualitative insights. Key challenges identified include insufficient resources and natural conditions such as low soil fertility. Success, however, is linked to strong stakeholder participation and effective management support. The findings indicate that while many schools have started the GPP, various hurdles threaten its long-term success.
