Abstract: |
This paper aims to build up the potter wheel machine which is operated by pedal on sewing machine as well as initial operated by motor. Based on the problems facing in the conventional method, it is known that there is a scope for pedal operated pottery wheel and alternatively with motor. This machine can be work with the pedal mechanism as well as by motor. The human effort and work are more in traditional methods or conventional method. By implementing this mechanism, the manpower as well a effort required will be minimised. This design preferred an efficient method of doing forming of an earthen pot and reducing the human work. Its purpose is to efficiently transfer human foot motion through a pedal mechanism and a bevel gear setup to rotate the potter’s wheel. When the pedal is operated, the flywheel transfers the mechanical energy to the horizontal shaft through the belt drive mechanism. After that the horizontal rotation is converted in to vertical rotation by using the bevel gear for the rotary motion of pottery wheel. This device reduces the time needed to produce the earthen pot. So that it is suitable for mass production. In addition to that by using the motor, the manual work will be reduced. The project work starts with survey justifying the need for the product. It is identified that a pottery making machine which has the capacity to produce the huge Pots. With literature survey and field Visits, different pottery techniques and process involved in pottery making techniques is Understand. The main aim of this project is to focus on the rural areas people by giving less effort create huge product. The detailed design of the pottery wheel is done by using CAD software and FEM analysis. |
