Abstract: |
This study explores emotional intelligence levels, job satisfaction, and their interrelationship among hospitality industry workers in Valencia City. Results indicate that all dimensions of emotional intelligence—self-awareness, empathy, social skills, managing emotions, and self-regulation—are rated as high, with self-awareness being the most prominent. Job satisfaction levels also rank highly, with praise and appraisal being particularly valued by employees. The analysis reveals a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, highlighting the role of emotional intelligence in promoting workplace satisfaction and reducing employee turnover. Based on these findings, several recommendations are proposed to strengthen emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among hospitality workers. Key recommendations include fostering effective communication both at home and at work, conducting annual team-building activities to build trust, and empowering employees with greater autonomy in their roles. Furthermore, training, employee engagement initiatives, and recognition programs are recommended to enhance both performance and well-being. The study emphasizes the importance of fair compensation practices, including annual performance-based salary adjustments, to support employee satisfaction. These measures aim to promote emotional well-being and job satisfaction, ultimately benefiting both employees and the organization. |
