Abstract: In today’s world, there is a rapid growth of technology that provides better opportunities to the seller to reach the customer with ease and much faster than before. Online shopping has emerged as the latest source of shopping for consumers due to fast developing technologies. Women has emerged as the most powerful consumer today due to their increasing purchasing power. Therefore, marketers need to understand how women consumers choose between online and in-store shopping to fulfil their desired needs of different products. The aim of the study is to unearth the buying behaviour of women towards online and traditional mode of shopping. The Primary data has been obtained with the help of questionnaire. The response of women was elicited through a questionnaire from among 200 women (100 from Jabalpur and 100 from Katni) residing in urban areas of Jabalpur and Katni district in the age group 18 to 60 years. Therefore, this study highlights the preference of women towards shopping when same price is charged in online shops and in-stores and their preferred channel to shop different products online or in-stores. This study will provide an insight to the marketers and retailers to understand the women buying behaviour for a particular product and build strategies accordingly to meet the demand of women consumers.
