Abstract: |
Climate change refers to any change in climate over an extended period, as a result of natural variability and anthropogenic factors. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate in its Article 1 defines climate change as: ‘a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods. According to IPCC “Climate change is a change in the state of the climate that can be identified by changes in the mean temperature and the variability of its properties, and that persists for an extended period, typically decades or longer. The main aim of this paper is to examine whether Inherent Knowledge to deal with Climate Changes in India taking place over years and what are the main factors related with such changes. This study first uses the Govt reports and Census data related to the type of changes over years and to have a deep insight into the main factors causing such changes the study uses an extensive study of literature on knowledge of environment and environmental changes and after review of literature we observe some most important factors behind climatic changes then uses logit model on primary data collected for four largest rural areas of India that empirically proves their impact. |
