Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between classroom management techniques and student’s academic performance in private secondary schools in Musanze District, Rwanda. The study used correlation research design. Quantitative method was used and the data were analyzed using statistical package for social science (SPSS)and then the findings were presented using tables. This study was carried out 10 private secondary schools in Musanze District in Rwanda. The study contains a population of 244 and a sample of 71 participants. The data was collected by using questionnaire with 10-point Likert scales. To analyze data was using percentages, frequencies, means, standard deviation and correlation analysis. The result of this study showed that there is a positive and insignificant relationship between motivational classroom management practices and student’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Musanze district; positive and signification relationship between behavioral classroom management practices and student’ academic performance in private secondary schools in Musanze district, positive and signification relationship between instructional classroom management practices and student’ academic performance in Private secondary schools in Musanze district. The study recommended that the Ministry of Education should continue to provide schools and teachers with capacity building on classroom management techniques and provide them with different facilities.
