| Abstract: |
This paper sought to investigate the nurturing and recruitment of church musicians in selected churches in Ghana. The study was conducted in selected churches in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and targeted Church Musicians, Pastors and Church management Committee members. Purposive and convenience sampling techniques were used to select the respondents for the study. Interview and observation were used to collect data. The study revealed that churches do not have conscious succession plans on how to nurture and recruit church musicians to serve in the churches. Also, the musicians are not financially motivated to serve in the church. It is therefore recommended that, Churches must establish music schools where they could train their own musicians for the services in the church. Besides, Special funds should be set aside in the churches for the support of the musicians in the church so they could feel comfortable to work
