| Abstract: |
In academic environment where information is easily accessible, the ethical and responsible use of information is an important skill. The primary goal of this study was to examine the influence of access to resources, digital literacy, and librarian support on college students' ethical and responsible use of information. This descriptive correlational research design involved the three hundred eighty-six (386) students taking research subjects during the second semester of the Academic Year 2024-2025 at one of the higher institutions in Mindanao. This study adapted the survey questionnaire of Catequista (2019). Data were organized using descriptive statistics and canonical correlation. Results show that access to resources, digital literacy, and librarian support correlate with the ethical and responsible use of information. Higher access to resources, digital literacy, and librarian support leads to better accountable and ethical use of information. One of the major recommendations to the faculty is to reinforce ethical behavior by embedding digital literacy and responsible research practices into their courses. They may collaborate with librarians to design discipline-specific research assignments that emphasize proper citation, critical evaluation of sources, and responsible use of AI. |
