Abstract
Research Area: Education
KeyWord: interactive activities, reading skills, integration
Abstract: Reading comprehension skills play a crucial role in the language learning process. Guiding learners on how to equip themselves with essential tools to understand texts of various genres allows them to derive meaning and synthesize information. Moreover, teaching reading skills also fosters vocabulary development, fluency, and cultural awareness as readers engage with diverse cultural perspectives and contexts through texts. Effective reading instruction nurtures lifelong learning habits because proficient readers are better equipped to pursue independent research, engage with complex ideas, and navigate a plethora of information available in today's digital age. To diversify classroom activities during reading skills lessons, the author suggests integrating some activities with other skills to engage learners in the learning process while also helping them hone their communication, critical thinking, presentation, and discussion skills in English.
