Abstract: This qualitative study explored the impact of a financial aid program on student educational experiences at a private higher education institution in the Philippines. The research conducted deep interviews with nine UniFAST grantees at the Philippine College Foundation and thus engaged with students’ personal stories and experiences very closely. Conducting the research ethically was a must through the implementation of informed consent, voluntary participation, and the protection of participants’ identities. Thematic analysis brought out five main themes: financial wellness, brighter paths, academic commitment, financial struggles, and challenges to stay motivated. The study indicates that UniFAST support reduces students’ financial worries and thus allows them to dedicate more time to their studies, participate in school activities, and keep their enthusiasm towards their academic and career goals. Even though students encountered some difficulties, such as postponement of financial assistance, they mostly regarded the program as a positive and significant support that added to their academic advancement and personal development. The research highlights the significant role of the UniFAST program in easing the learning process and making it more comfortable for students in private higher education institutions.
