| Abstract: |
The present study is intended to find out the elements of Kunstlerroman and Epiphany as the major themes in the film, Ustad Hotel released in 2012. Epiphany and kunstlerroman are traced as the key factors that are used to make the main protagonist; Faizi realized the purpose of life. Epiphany has played a crucial role in this movie. It is treated as the backbone of the movie, without which the story will be incomplete. Another crucial factor that carries up the task is the element of kunstlerroman that is seen throughout the movie. Kunstlerroman act as the product of Faizi’s growth who is an expert in culinary art. Growth is seen throughout in his character with respect to his relationships with his father, girlfriend, fiancé, money, food, society, country and above all, the human relationships. All the variables like father-son conflicts, influence of Karim Akka of Ustad Hotel, Suleimani , the metaphor of love, the kunstlerroman and striking epiphany are closely studied in this research to prove the point that both epiphany and kunstlerroman are served as major themes in the above film. |
