Abstract: |
This study aimed to ascertain the teacher’s capability in handling technological resources in the new normal. It utilized a survey questionnaire in gathering data among 66 secondary school teachers in the Department of Education, Division of Bukidnon, Quezon III District, School Year 2023-2024. A descriptive research design utilizing descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, and rank were used to determine the capability of teachers and to analyze the data obtained from the results of the survey questionnaire. One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was employed to examine how responses vary across different age groups. The findings revealed that teachers have high technological capability on the three key components of handling technological resources: design, create and model learning with technology; communicate and collaborate using technology; and extending learning beyond classroom with technology. This indicates the teachers’ adeptness in integrating technology into instructional approaches. Strengths are evident in tasks such as creating engaging presentations and identifying online primary sources. On the other hand, there are areas for potential improvement such as independently generating web pages and crafting graphics-enriched newsletters. The study further revealed that younger individuals demonstrate higher technological capability across all components compared to older age groups. Based on the findings, this study suggests implementing targeted professional development strategies. These strategies should be tailored to address the specific needs and preferences of different age groups. Personalized training programs can effectively bridge identified gaps in technological proficiency among educators. |
