Abstract: |
The development of nanotechnology has become really broad and applied in many application field. This has cause a surge production of nano-based material such as nanoparticle and engineered nanomaterial (ENM). One of them are titanium dioxide, used as an efficient catalyst due to its stable property. Its production reportedly increases in the past decades. This huge increase in production of nanomaterial potentially gives cause to environmental compartment especially the aquatic habitat. Fish are very susceptible species that has a great possibility to be impacted by nanoparticle discharge to the aquatic waterways. This short review will discuss about the toxicity of titanium dioxide to fish and how the mechanism developed molecularly. |
