Singapore’s education system has consistently achieved top rankings in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), excelling in mathematics, science, and reading. This study systematically reviews key factors contributing to Singapore’s success, including centralized governance by the Ministry of Education, a rigorous and adaptive curriculum, comprehensive teacher training, and equity-driven support mechanisms. The integration of academic rigor with holistic learner development and societal collaboration emerges as a distinctive feature. Additionally, Singapore’s ongoing reforms addressing student well-being and flexible learner pathways highlight its responsiveness to evolving educational needs. Insights from this review offer valuable lessons for education systems seeking to enhance student outcomes while balancing excellence and equity. |
