Abstract: |
This study examined the relationship between socialization and academic learning gains among secondary school students in the Philippines. The research employed a phenomenological design, utilizing interviews and focus groups to gather data on students' experiences and perspectives regarding socialization, peer influences, and teacher-student relationships. The study focused on the impact of socialization on students' academic performance, exploring the roles of parental involvement, peer influence, and teacher-student relationships in this context. The results highlighted the significant influence of socialization on students' academic learning gains. The study found that students who engage in high-quality peer interactions tend to have positive emotional and academic outcomes. The study also showed that students with supportive relationships with parents, teachers, and peers tend to perform better academically. The findings also emphasized the importance of creating a supportive and nurturing social environment to enhance students' academic achievement, motivation, and engagement in school.The study's results provide valuable insights into socialization's impact on academic learning gains. The findings suggest that educators should prioritize fostering positive social relationships among students, promoting parental involvement, and supporting teacher-student connections. This study contributes to the understanding of the importance of socialization in education. It provides evidence-based recommendations for enhancing socialization processes and promoting positive academic outcomes among secondary school students. |
