Abstract: Education is crucial for social roles and identities and can extend beyond the explicitly designed curriculum. Students learn and conceptualize their ideas of gender roles from the hidden curriculum, which relates to informal and implicit teaching by relationships, materials, and practice in education. It is from these implicit lessons that feminist theory draws into examining how such lessons have reinforced patriarchal frameworks as well as existing gender norms. This study explores how the implicit, or hidden, curriculum in classroom practice informs students' construction of gender identity. Qualitative data were generated through focus groups with junior high school students from Malaybalay City National Science High School, interviews with student, and observations of classroom environments, all using a feminist theoretical framework. The findings indicate that class dynamics, instructional materials, and teacher-student interaction each subtly reinforce traditional gender constructions. This study highlights the importance of creating a gender-sensitive educational practices and interaction that will foster equity and inclusivity.
