| Abstract: |
This literature review explores the role of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in internationalizing Philippine higher education. As global and regional integration reshapes educational landscapes, CHED has taken steps to align local higher education institutions (HEIs) with international standards through policy initiatives such as CMO No. 55, s. 2016. However, the implementation of these policies reveals significant disparities across institutions. This review synthesizes findings from studies published between 2015 and 2024, highlighting the policy framework, institutional responses, quality assurance strategies, challenges in implementation, and emerging practices. The study concludes that while CHED provides strategic direction, more targeted support and adaptive policy mechanisms are necessary for a more inclusive and effective internationalization agenda. |
