Abstract: This study investigates the influence of arbitrary holes on functionally graded material (FGM) plates. A novel modeling technique is introduced that eliminates the need to mesh internal boundaries. Proposed computational approach integrates level set method with X-FEM. In this framework, FE solution is enriched with additional functions based on partition of unity concept. Level set method is utilized to define the positions of the holes. Several numerical examples are provided to validate effectiveness, precision of the proposed technique.
