| Abstract: |
This study investigates the key factors influencing the entrepreneurial intention of young people in Vietnam, a country with a dynamic demographic and growing startup ecosystem. Drawing on the Theory of Planned Behavior, the research examines five variables: entrepreneurial attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, entrepreneurial motivation, and entrepreneurship education. Utilizing a sample of 398 respondents across different age groups and educational levels, the findings reveal that Vietnamese youth generally possess a positive entrepreneurial mindset, supported by social and educational environments. Attitudes toward entrepreneurship are favorable, with many viewing it as a preferred career path. Subjective norms, particularly support from family, peers, and educators, play a significant role in shaping intention. Participants also exhibit high perceived behavioral control, expressing confidence in their capabilities and access to information. Motivation for entrepreneurship is strong, driven by the desire for achievement and autonomy, though a lack of concrete business ideas persists. Additionally, entrepreneurship education is recognized as impactful, especially through leadership roles and extracurricular activities, though entrepreneurship competitions appear underleveraged. The study underscores the importance of strengthening educational programs, practical support mechanisms, and inclusive policies to foster sustainable youth entrepreneurship in Vietnam. |
