Abstract: |
In today’s digital age, integrating technology in education is essential for enhancing teaching and learning. However, teachers in remote and underserved areas face significant challenges in accessing and utilizing technological resources. This qualitative study explores the lived experiences of selected DepEd teachers in remote areas of Bukidnon through structured interviews and phenomenological analysis. Key issues identified include inadequate infrastructure, limited resources, and educational inequities, revealing how educators navigate these constraints to support student learning. The findings highlight the urgent need for targeted policies that improve infrastructure, ensure equitable access to technology, and provide ongoing professional development tailored to the unique challenges of remote settings.
The study also examines teacher-related factors such as attitudes toward technology, self-efficacy, and prior experience, as well as school-level variables like technical support and leadership commitment, alongside external influences including community involvement and socioeconomic conditions. Understanding these interconnected factors offers a comprehensive view of the challenges and opportunities for equitable technology integration in isolated schools. Conducted during the first quarter of the 2025–2026 school year, the study reveals that despite limited training, inadequate resources, and emotional isolation, teachers employ innovative coping strategies despite moderate support systems in place. These insights emphasize the need for comprehensive infrastructure, training, and emotional support to improve technology use and educational outcomes in remote areas. |
