| Abstract: |
This article studies the importance of public infrastructure, particularly transport infrastructure, in the attractiveness of Foreign Direct Investment for a developing country, with the particular case of Madagascar. The methodology adopted is a VAR model that measures the impact of indicators measuring the level of Malagasy infrastructure on inward foreign investment. Our observation period runs from 1991 to 2022, with an annual frequency. Our results suggest that the performance of the country's transport infrastructure plays a significant role in foreign firms' decisions to invest in the country. |
