Abstract
Research Area: Migration and Family Planning
KeyWord: Labour Migration, Family Planning, Need, Barriers, Knowledge and Practices
Abstract: Migrant couples perceived similar barriers in accessing family planning. These barriers include: fear of side effects, shyness, unavailability of desired method at the health facilities, distance to health facility Service Centers bad behavior of health providers and lack of service providers at the health facility center. Family planning use among migrant couples is low and awareness on use of family planning prior to the husband's arrival is also seen to be lacking. Couples face many barriers in accessing family planning services which is preventable through advocacy and use of FCHVs to reach the migrant couples.
