ABSTRACT
Pronunciation is an essential part of language learning but many students in English major often face many problems of studying English pronunciation, especially first year ones. This research aims to investigate what caused “Difficulties in learning pronunciation of English-majored freshmen at Tay Do University”. The research was undertaken with the participation of 55 students of English-majored freshmen at Tay Do University. There were both males and females selected randomly. Their ages ranged from 18 to 20. They came from different areas, both rural and urban ones. Besides, they all speak Vietnamese as their mother tongue and English as a foreign language. All of them were freshmen, so they were considered at equal levels. The conclusion showed some difficulties that English majored freshmen at Tay Do University often encounter in learning pronunciation.
