| Abstract: |
At TUEBA, like many universities, English courses are separated into two categories: General English (GE) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). These courses are evenly distributed throughout four academic years. To determine their level and enroll in classes, students take a placement test at the beginning of the first term. They must then complete three GE English courses, using the Market Leader textbook (Elementary and Pre-Intermediate) as a foundation for building their language skills. Successful completion of these three GE courses is a requirement for enrolling in ESP courses in various business fields such as Accounting, Investment Economics, Business Administration, Hotel and Tourism, among others. The university requires students to reach a minimum of B1 level before graduation, which highlights the importance of the English courses in preparing students for their future careers. |
