| Abstract: |
Youth play a crucial role in Vietnam’s economic development, particularly in the context of industrialization, modernization, and international integration. In Thai Nguyen province, employment generation for young people has been a focal point for local authorities, with various initiatives such as job fairs, vocational training programs, and employment consulting services. However, challenges remain, including skill-job mismatches, inadequate vocational training quality, and limited career guidance. This study examines the current employment situation of youth in Thai Nguyen province, the effectiveness of job-support policies, and the challenges faced by young people. The research is based on a survey of 438 young respondents, evaluating career orientation programs, vocational training quality, employment support policies, and opportunities for overseas work. Findings indicate that while career counseling and vocational training programs are frequently implemented, they do not fully align with labor market demands. Financial support policies for youth employment and overseas job opportunities are appreciated but require further improvements. The study suggests enhancing training quality, strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and enterprises, and expanding employment programs to ensure sustainable job opportunities for young people. |
