| Abstract: |
Paper for packaging has various characteristics and types depending on the process manufacture and materials used. Sometimes many use packaging materials paper is not in accordance with its designation, for example, such as packaging for those who have materials oily material. This is because oil penetration occurs in the packaging so that packaging can be damaged quickly. The aim of this study is to determine the length of time the absorption of paper to oil. Paper used oil paper, parchment paper, and HVS paper. The test material used is vegetable oil. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the use of different papers resulted in different absorption times.The penetration time of oil on waxed paper was 205 seconds, 2190 seconds for parchment paper, and 28 seconds for HVS paper. Greaseproof paper and parchment paper have a longer oil resistance compared to HVS paper so that parchment paper and parchment paper can be used as primary packaging materials for oily and fatty food products. |
