| Abstract: |
The development of digital literacy has become an important element in the research of scholars and policymakers around the world. To achieve this objective, the study uses conceptual models of digital literacy and digital skills. This study aims to: (1) systematize concepts related to ethnic minority youth, digital skills, and competencies; (2) identify necessary digital skills for ethnic minority youth; and (3) evaluate the digital skills of ethnic minority youth in the Northwest region. The study's data was collected from 450 ethnic minority youth in the Northwest region in 2023. Analysis results show that the digital skills of Northwest ethnic minority youth are currently only at an average level. Among them, safety skills scored highest and nearly reached an advanced level, showing that young people in the Northwest region pay great attention to safety in cyber space. The second highest scoring skill is communication and collaboration skills and the lowest scoring skill is digital content creation skills. |
