| Abstract: |
Terrorism and acts of insurgency has returned Nigeria especially the northern parts back to many decades of underdevelopment because of attacks on infrastructures; public places, schools, hospitals, businesses, bridges and other economic and social institutions. This research investigates the consequences of terrorism and insurgency on economic, education and social life of Adamawa state of Nigeria; Qualitative research technique was adopted in carrying out the research where sixty (60) questionnaires and group discussions were used in Michika, Mubi and Hong local government areas of Adamawa State. The participants were purposefully selected to participate in individual interviews and focus groups discussion. The research discovered among other things that terrorism and insurgency are byproducts of bad governance, corruption, poverty and illiteracy. However, provision of educational opportunity, skills acquisition and enabling environment for economic development were recommended as possible solutions to the problem. |
