Abstract: This research examines elementary and secondary teacher professional roles and authority dynamics in public integrated schools, a context where the two levels exist together but confront special challenges. In spite of common objectives of developing students, variations in teaching styles and resource allocation tend to create tensions that compromise collaboration. There is little known about how these divisions affect teacher collaboration and the general learning environment in integrated schools. The aim is to explore how teachers view their roles, the challenges they face, how they cope, and suggestions for enhancing collaboration. Data were collected through written interviews with primary and secondary teachers using a qualitative phenomenological design, analyzed through reflexive thematic analysis. Findings indicate that teachers perceive their work as complementary, informed by learners' developmental requirements, but encounter practical and interpersonal issues that need open communication, shared professional development, and effective leadership support. This study emphasizes the necessity for building mutual respect and collaborative frameworks to overcome professional divides, indicating future efforts should be directed at building cohesive teaching communities to improve learning outcomes in integrated schools.
