Abstract: |
The ultimate goal of this study was to determine the effectiveness of educational tours in hospitality management at Central Mindanao University. The purpose of this survey was to (1) determine the demographic profile of the participants, (2) identify the level of effectiveness of an educational tour, and (3) evaluate the significant difference in the level of effectiveness and demographic profile of the participants. The research methodology used was descriptive with a sample size of 250 level-of-study-heterogeneous students who attended the educational tours. The study was specifically conducted in the College of Human Ecology, Central Mindanao University. A survey type of questionnaire was created with a total of 250 respondents and the data collected were analyzed using mean and frequency. The outcome of the survey indicated that the educational tour was mostly received well by the students. Participants were extremely satisfied with the learning outcome of the tours and the knowledge retained from it; specific results include fourth-year students indicating the effectiveness of the tours to be significantly higher than their junior contemporaries. The findings suggest that these educational tours could potentially be more effective if molded toward diversified requirements and views of students within educational development processes and across age groups. In this respect, educational institutions must provide ample experiential learning opportunities in their programs to better prepare graduates for careers in hospitality. |
