| Abstract: |
Traps are a type of fishing gear used by fishermen in the Seribu Islands waters to catch rabbitfish. Three types of traps used in fishing operations are bamboo traps (bubu tambun), wire traps (bubu kawat), and folded traps (bubu lipat). The eco-friendly level of trap fishing gear was analyzed using nine criteria set by FAO (1995). The highest score was achieved by bamboo traps 25.25, while wire traps and folded traps achieved lower scores with identical numbers of 21.75. All three are classified as less environmentally friendly fishing gear. It is important to know the eco-friendliness of the fishing gear used so that the area around the fishing area is maintained. |
