| Abstract: |
Stock market investment has now become an attractive option of investment worldwide and has grown exponentially overtime. However, it is not an attractive option for those who are looking for instant profit because of the unpredictable movement of the stock market and the risk involved. Yet, there are still individuals who are willing to take the risk and invest. This study explored the lived experiences of the stock market investors in Valencia City, Bukidnon. Transcendental phenomenology was used in gathering the data using Moustakas’s data analysis framework. After thorough analysis of the data, two themes emerged: (a) venturous with two subthemes: optimistic and self-investment and (b) roller-coaster emotions with two subthemes: regrets and joys in investing. The participants had a roller-coaster experience as stock market investors because of the erratic movement of the stock market but they remained optimistic. They tried different mean to reduce the risk involved in such venture. Though some see negative indicators in their investment portfolio now, they remain hopeful that they will achieve their goals of financial security. |
