Abstract: Effective teacher-student interaction is crucial for successful classroom learning, with questioning serving as a key tool for eliciting responses, assessing comprehension, and fostering engagement. This research explores the dynamics of teacher-student interaction, focusing on how different questioning techniques impact student engagement and understanding. Classroom discourse is analyzed using Sinclair and Coulthard's (1975) Initiation-Response-Feedback (IRF) model. The study examines the types of questions employed by teachers, the nature of student responses, and teacher feedback to determine the correlation between questioning strategies and student outcomes, ultimately seeking to inform evidence-based strategies for instructional improvement.
