Abstract:	English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is gaining significant prominence and has become a mandatory course in numerous tertiary institutions. Designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for their future professional environments, these courses must be carefully structured with thoughtfully developed materials to align with the expectations of both students and employers. While numerous studies have focused on identifying learners’ needs, comparatively little attention has been given to the perspectives of employers - those who ultimately utilize the skills of the graduates. To address this gap, the present study aims at investigating employers' views on key considerations for developing relevant instructional materials for ESP courses in the tourism sector. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five employers from various tourism companies to gather their insights. The findings highlight a range of important factors that should be taken into account when designing effective ESP materials.
